Welcome to Autoimmune Diet 411!
Food sensitivities and inflammation are a major contributing factor to autoimmune disease, so an allergen-free and anti-inflammatory diet is the first place to start when it comes to managing symptoms. It is this group's evidence-based belief that a diet free of grains, dairy, legumes, and other inflammatory foods is the best approach to managing symptoms of autoimmune disease. Only a thorough elimination diet can determine which specific foods are a problem for you, and everyone is different. However, we urge everyone to permanently eliminate gluten, GMOs, and any highly-processed and nutrient-poor foods, which have all been shown to contribute to disease. To maintain our health, whole, nutrient-dense foods like meat, fish, and produce should continue to be our focus for the rest of our lives. This group exists to help patients and practitioners navigate the process of an elimination diet and make the transition toward a more sustainable, healthy lifestyle. Be prepared to know your body like you never have before!
